Transitions…

As I sit here writing this, I’m thinking over my day today… putting down a deposit on a small office space in downtown Toronto, meeting a mentor for lunch, then wandering into the CYBF offices to follow up on the status of my loan application. What a difference from a year ago!! And now the change begins all over again…

A couple weeks back, I finished up my Master’s program in Business, Entrepreneurship and Technology at the University of Waterloo. It was a busy year and a lot of work, but a fantastic experience. I spent the last few months working on a concept for my own business, and now it is time to put it all to the test. I have rented out my condo in Kitchener, moved to Toronto, found a small office space, and am ready to dive head-first into life as an entrepreneur!!

For a long time, I was unsatisfied with many aspects of my life, but unable to take action. I was scared of making a change. However, I have seen first hand the opportunities that can be created by taking bold actions and embracing change. When I embarked on my journey back to school last year, I had no idea where it would take me. But I knew that the change was positive, and I poured all my efforts into seizing the many opportunities offered along this new path.

For many people, dealing with change is extremely difficult. Change creates chaos and confusion, uncertainty and doubt. But change also brings with it incredible opportunity. Only by learning to accept, deal with, and eventually embrace change can we fully take advantage of the opportunity it creates. As I embark on another new journey, I do not know where this path will lead me. But I know that no matter where I end up, it’ll be one hell of a ride. And isn’t that what it’s all about?
